A bit about us

1st Heath Hayes Scout Group was originally started in 1980 to serve the area of Heath Hayes and its local families. We met in Bourne Methodist Church, St John’s Church hall and the Cabin in Heath Hayes for many years until 2005 when we had the opportunity to move to our current location at The Willows in Cannock. Today, many of our young people still come from Heath Hayes but we now also cover Cannock, Longford and the surrounding areas. Our central location makes it easy for young people from all over Cannock to meet up and have exciting adventures.

Scouting is for boys and girls aged from 6 years upwards. We have a Beaver Colony (ages 6-8), Cub Pack (ages 8-10½) and Scout Troop (ages 10½-14) all run by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. We meet on weeknights during term time but frequently hold other events like camps, sleepovers, hikes, trips and visits. We have fun and adventures, make good friends, learn new skills and generally have a laugh. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, why don’t you get in touch?

How to Get Started

Map
1st heath hayes scout group map

From Cannock Bus Station, follow Dartmouth Road and then Dartmouth Avenue. Turn right into St James Road and turn left at the T-junction into Birch Avenue. Turn right into The Willows (a cul-de- sac). On the left there is an unsurfaced road (purple line). Follow this to the car park by the garages at the top. Please park here and walk through the gates into the Scout Hut.

Please do not drive through the gates as it is difficult to turn round and get out again and moving vehicles pose a danger to our young people.  Thank you for your co-operation.
